This directory provides contact information for the people, agencies and organizations that are involved in research, education, leasing, growing, restoration and management of oysters in North Carolina.
Mr. McCall graduated cum laude from Old Dominion University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree and began working for The Nature Conservancy in 2000. As the Northeast Regional Steward for The Nature Conservancy in N.C., he implements conservation activities across the northeastern region of the state. Mr. McCall’s oyster conservation efforts include organizing oyster shell recycling in Dare County and working with state agencies and several partners to support the N.C. Oyster Sanctuary Program. He has also been involved in an oyster remote setting projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and has built and monitored reefs adjacent to conservation lands to help in reducing shoreline erosion. Mr. McCall has served on the N.C. Oyster Working Group for seven years.
