Dr. Rodriguez's research interests include coastal geology, sedimentology and ecogeomorphology with a concentration in examining how coastal depositional environments respond to changes in sea level, storms and land use. His current research projects include: examining the Holocene evolution of estuarine environments along the Northern Gulf of Mexico and mid-Atlantic margins. examining variations in beach erosion and barrier-island evolution, evaluating the controls on oyster-reef and saltmarsh accretion, assessing the impacts of climate change and associated sea-level rise on coastal areas and developing coastal carbon budgets and predictive models.
