Hunter is a senior urban hydrologist at WithersRavenel. His work with the North Carolina Coastal Federation spans over 10 years with a primary focus of using low impact development and green infrastructure techniques to protect and restore oyster and shellfish habitats up and down the North Carolina coast. Retrofits he’s designed have led to direct improvements in water quality and his work with development regulations has allowed coastal developers to take advantage of low cost runoff reduction strategies as part of their permitted stormwater management systems. Most recently, Hunter completed the Storm-EZ permitting program on behalf of the Department of Environmental Quality. Storm-EZ streamlines the permitting application process, promoting higher water quality protection while reducing paperwork and administrative effort. The program is available for free through the Department of Environmental Quality website. Based in the Raleigh office, Hunter has worked at WithersRavenel for over 12 years and has been in North Carolina for over 17 years. WithersRavenel is a longtime partner of the Coastal Federation and provides planning, engineering, surveying services statewide.
